Description
Students model natural selection and gather and organize data by hunting for beans using forceps. They watch the population change due to selective pressures.
Materials:
- forceps or chopsticsk
- lima, kidney beans and lentils
- petri dishes or small bowls of some kind
There are lots of details about how to execute this that I will share with anyone who wants- just let me know. Can be adjusted for different grade levels.

Can you go into detail on how you would do this for a 10th grade Biology class?

I'd probably use it as a way to teach predation/ camouflage as selective pressure. It will take about 20 minutes for students to gather the data, and then you could introduce the topic of natural selection in the second half of the period. The next day you would do some practice with new scenarios involving selective pressure

I'll post a biology oriented version of this.
